PITTWATER RSL SUB BRANCH

Pittwater RSL is a long-established Sub-Branch of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Our Sub-Branch is the presence in Pittwater of the Returned and Services League (RSL), Australia's largest Veterans' organisation. We commemorate the service - past and present - of Australia’s defence forces and we work to promote the spirit of ANZAC in our local area.

NEXT MEETING

Sub-Branch meetings are generally held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 10.30am in the Auditorium, except in January, when there is no meeting.

ANZAC

Every year the Club holds two services to honour and commemorate the ANZAC spirit. In 2015 we celebrated the Centenary of ANZAC.

The first service is held on the Sunday before ANZAC Day. This is generally referred to as ANZAC Sunday. Our Members form up about 12:30pm, at the corner of Vineyard Street and Barrenjoey Road, and march along Barrenjoey Road to the Mona Vale Commemorative Park for a 1:00pm ANZAC Service. This is then followed by Luncheon in the Club’s Auditorium.

The next service is ANZAC Day Dawn Service which usually commences at 05:45am at the Pittwater RSL Club’s Lower Cenotaph. This is followed by Breakfast in the Club.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Remembrance Day was formerly known as Armistice Day and commemorates the cease-fire at the end of World War I. On the 11th day of the 11th month at 11am, one minute's silence is observed, to reflect on the loss and suffering caused by war...
