Catch Thirsty Merc at Pittwater RSL!

Thirsty Merc formed in Sydney in 2002 releasing their debut EP, First Work, in September 2003, before being signed to Warner Music. Three more studio albums followed - Slideshows in 2007 (#4 ARIA Album) and Mousetrap Heart in 2010 (#14 on the ARIA Album chart) which included radio staples, 20 Good Reasons, Mousetrap Heart and Tommy and Krista. Saturday 30 March: Boom Crash Opera & Taxi Ride

Boom Crash Opera and Taxiride announce that they will join musical forces in 2019 for the first time in 10 years for the “This Crazy Ride” tour.

There is no substitute for a solid catalogue of songs when it comes to live touring. The collective ‘library’ between Boom Crash Opera and Taxiride is extensive, to say the least. Both bands have a parallel trajectory, give or take 10 years, when it comes to their history and successes.

The “This Crazy Ride” tour will see 2 of Australia’s most beloved pop/rock outfits unite for the first time in over a decade to present a live show guaranteed to inspire live music lovers to revel in the nostalgia of the 1990s and to be reminded of how a catalogue of incredibly well-honed songs holds up in the modern world.

Saturday 27 April: Choirboys

The year was 1988… and it was time to Run to Paradise!
Surpassing double platinum status, which is old school for millions of downloads, clicks and likes, ‘Big Bad Noise’ was CHOIRBOYS’ most successful album.

“We’d survived some truly hard times.” Frontman Mark Gable recalls, “But we came back with grit and ‘Run to Paradise’ not only changed the landscape for the band, it really imbedded Pub Rock into Australian culture.”

CHOIRBOYS are bringing old school cool back!

CHOIRBOYS will take you back to that time when they do their greatest album BIG BAD NOISE cover to cover, beginning to end.

Loud, raw and close to the edge, if you missed it the first time, here is redemption!

Saturday 11 May: Vanessa Amorosi

Long admired and respected for her powerful soaring voice at live shows and on recordings, singer songwriter Vanessa Amorosi has earned her place as being regarded as one of Australia's most iconic female voices.

Infused with soulful R&B and powerhouse rock delivery, Amorosi will return to her live roots as a part of Red Hot Summers series in April & May 2019. Vanessa captured the attention of the Australian public at a tender age with her anthemic breakthrough hit 'Absolutely Everybody', a  Top 10 smash which stayed in the charts for six months, certified double platinum in Australia and charted through Europe.

Her first album Power (2000) notched up six nominations at the ARIA awards and saw her sing "Heroes Live Forever" at the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympics to great acclaim before a global TV viewing audience of billions.

Singles such as "Shine", "Perfect" and "This Is Who I Am" continued her hold on the charts, while the albums "Somewhere In The Real World" (2008) and "Hazardous" (2009) expanded her reputation as a singer who constantly delivered. Vanessa used her position to become involved in a number of community causes and charities, including Kids Help Line, The Variety Club and animal welfare. As a result she was nominated in 2003 for Australian of the Year. She went on to sell two million records.

2019 heralds Amorosi's return to live performances and a renewed focus on music with more to come.

Saturday 6 July: The Angels

The year 2019 marks an auspicious occasion for The Angels, the 40th anniversary of their third album No Exit. The album, which spawned classic hits such as the title track No Exit and the still-beloved show-stoppers Shadow Boxer and Mr Damage, peaked at No. 8 in the charts.
It was an apt follow-on from the band’s seminal Face To Face album, demonstrating to fans in 1979 that The Angels were a rock band here to stay. Fast forward four decades and the No Exit album is still a fan favourite.

As the anniversary approached for its big 4-0, it was a natural progression to take the songs out on the road and celebrate them in the best way The Angels know how with a massive tour. The special thing about the tour is that there are no supports – it is just The Angels, full on, recharged for the entire show.
