2006/2007 MENS BOWLS RESULTS

PITTWATER MEMORIAL MENS BOWLING CLUB

Pittwater Memorial Bowling Club was established in 1962 as a fully registered Bowling Club in accordance with the laws and by-laws of the "royal", with the first meeting held within the club rooms of our parent club, Pittwater RSL and was chaired by the inaugural President Bill McKenzie.

Our first green named Bill McKenzie green was officially opened by the President of the Royal, E Downie, on 15th October 1966, and the second green, named "Frank Mattox Green," was opened for play shortly afterwards.

Membership over the past 40 years has fluctuated from between 90 and 160 Members and to join PMBC, Members must firstly become Members of the Pittwater RSL Club. Annual fees we believe are amongst the cheapest of any other comparable Bowling Club in the northern districts and green fees will be at $6.00 per game on advertised playing days.

PMBC through its Bowling Office, offers members the opportunity of representing the Club in District and State Pennants, midweek pennants and all other championships run by the Royal.

TREASURER - Annual membership fees are collected by the Treasurer from May to June, currently the fee is $42.00 per full member plus, if required, a charge of $2.00 per locker. Fees must be finalised by 30th June each year to enable members to retain voting rights.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY INTO CLUB SPECIAL EVENTS:

JACKPOT DAYS - Played on alternate Tuesdays, mainly on the basis of “Triples”, with teams being drawn at random from the following grouping:- LEAD, SECOND & SKIP

In addition to normal green fees of $6.00 per player, an additional $1.00 is levied and at the conclusion of the days play, the score cards will record the differential in the score for each rink, with the lowest winning score through to highest determining the range. A number is drawn out and if it coincides with any of the rink winners, then that team takes out the jackpot. Should the number not coincide then the jackpot carries on the next fortnight.
